The ruins of Machu Picchu, rediscovered in 1911 by Yale archaeologist Hiram Bingham, are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world. While the Inca people certainly used the Andean mountain top (9060 feet elevation), erecting many hundreds of stone structures from the early 1400's, legends and myths indicate that Machu Picchu (meaning 'Old Peak' in the Quechua language) was revered as a sacred place from a far earlier time. Whatever its origins, the Inca turned the site into a small (5 square miles) but extraordinary city! One of Machu Picchu's primary functions was that of astronomical observatory. The Intihuatana stone (meaning 'Hitching Post of the Sun') has been shown to be a precise indicator of the date of the two equinoxes and other significant celestial periods.

This is going to be my next trip! ....Machu Picchu has been a goal of mine for a long time!

My Heart & My Light

One keeps gives me strength and keeps me strong
The path may get dark but never for long
the other gives me light and shows me the way
when I feel that I am beginning to sway
one makes me laugh and gives me strength with a song
The other may push me to keep moving along
I can't remember a time when they were not a part of me
My two boys ...My heart and My Light..They will always be.

America's Stonehenge is a 4,000 year old archaeological site in Salem, NH. A maze of man-made chambers, walls and ceremonial meeting places, America's Stonehenge is most likely the oldest man-made construction in the United States.

It was the end of August when I visited this fascinating place right here in our own backyard! The wonder of it all and its mysteries that are there. I totally enjoyed the feeling of being in this majestic place. Its amazing that they knew so much that we have no idea just how much!! Maybe its not about evolving as it is a SHIFT in consciousness! ................... You can visit website for more info:: http://www.stonehengeusa.com/

Mayan Pyramid of Kukulkan at Chichen Itza, in Mexico
Chichen Itza and numerous other important Maya temple-cities were positioned according to a regional sacred geography. The Maya practiced sacred geography on a large regional scale by the placement of their temple-cities at specific sites that mirrored the positions of various celestial objects observed in the night sky. The Maya developed a brilliant mathematical system, the only true writing system known in the Americas, and a series of three precise and interrelating calendars.

It was here that I was a the top of the world!!! The altitude so high you could see the whole city!
The people and the culture was of another time and place!! I loved it here and hope to visit again soon.
While I was standing at the top of this PYRAMID I was pregnant with Alex (my Oldest son) and I did not know it!! April 1994
I swear it had so much to do with why he is here with me now!!!!!!

The region of Copan is famous for its beautiful ruins. It has one of the best preserved and biggest Maya temples in the world. It is truly impressive. Copan Ruins are located in the western part of the Republic of Honduras, Central America. The capital of this Department is the city of Santa Rosa de Copan, formerly known as "Los Llanos". Copan is the archeological city located south of the whole geographic area, and it is where the great Mayan Civilization developed and flourished.

I have been to Copan a few times and when you stand in the middle of the ruins your in... Awe!!!!
The ruins are full of wonder and mystery and a feeling that can not be explained! I know that I studied them for such a long time before I actually walked on the earth there.
Cities are built on top cities to honor every new king, carvings that tell their life story like a book that tells ours! The experience was truly an AMAZING one that I will never forget!!!! May 1993

Keeping The Faith

When your feeling like you have no choice
Its there in your heart waiting for a voice
You may be troubled and down and out
but the answer is there, there is no doubt
Just face your fears with fierce determination
move forward with faith and a full declaration
No mountain is too high or valley too low
You will reach your destination this I know
With Strength, Wisdom, Hope and Love
and a whole lot of help from God above.

The Soul in the Mirror

I look to the spirit for answers to my prayers
There are so many questions so many fears
I feel the conflict within my soul
I only look for the pieces to make me whole
When from out of no where what should appear
My face in the mirror so simple so near
The answer was always with me you see
The reflection in the mirror that which was me.

The Voice Inside

At times I feel like I can’t take another step
When deep inside strength is kept
I do not know where it has come from
I know this comes easier for only some
Fear is nowhere to be found
The whisper of faith is a mere sound
It lies in my heart and calms my soul
I am no stranger to whatever it may hold
The key to all our fears are locked inside
A voice of reason allows it to subside
Have faith in each other and also in you
Show kindness and gratitude in whatever you do
The Universe has no boundaries for all of its children
No matter if you are a man or you are a women

Remembering................2009

Remembering friends and family at this time of year
Those that are far and those that are near
Old Friends and New ones coming together
Sharing stories with their kids and each other
Coming together, laughing and singing
Memories have started what joy this is bringing
Expanding the circle one by one
Re-emerging together under the sun
Sharing stories on-line about kids and the weather
The content, the story we tell it together
The days go by and new ones comes through
We check our message to see what is new
We shared so much in a short amount of time
Thanks for the memories that are now yours and mine
